"The king" review

  By far one of the most interesting periods in English history was the reign of henry v, hence why Netflix choose to use it as an inspiration for the movie. This movie is the perfect embodiment of the struggle that the older son had to face as he found himself divided between his father's ancient quarrels and his goals of a united England. A region rich in thousands of years of history, Lancashire is home to Roman ruins, Tudor mansions, and magnificent stately homes. This was the site of the infamous Pendle Witch trials.   Pendle Hill is surrounded by the stunning scenery of Lancashire and rises above an old hunting ground, which was once home to wolves and wild boar. It is also the site of Britain's largest witchcraft trial, which took place over 400 years ago. The Pendle witch trials, as they became known, were the result of the dogged investigation of local magistrate Roger Nowell, who discovered the alleged witches' nest in the area under his jurisdiction.
