One of the most stories speak in the 17th century is the myth of Pendle Hill in Lancashire. A region rich in thousands of years of history, Lancashire is home to Roman ruins, Tudor mansions, and magnificent stately homes. However, there is a darker side to this northern county, focused on Pendle Hill. This was the site of the infamous Pendle Witch trials.

Pendle Hill is surrounded by the stunning scenery of Lancashire and rises above an old hunting ground, which was once home to wolves and wild boar. It is also the site of Britain's largest witchcraft trial, which took place over 400 years ago. The Pendle witch trials, as they became known, were the result of the dogged investigation of local magistrate Roger Nowell, who discovered the alleged witches' nest in the area under his jurisdiction. This nest included members of two local families and an eclectic selection of neighbors and associates. Some of the witches have been involved in crimes over several decades, including illness, misfortune, and murder by magic.

The witchcraft trial was documented in an official publication, The Wonderfull Discoverie of Witches in the County of Lancaster, by the court clerk, Thomas Potts, and remains a well-known part of England's folklore and history to this day.
